Xue Mingqiu
 


      

Xue Mingqiu, male, born in Yixing, Jiangsu in Oct. 1930, CPC member; graduated from Zhejiang University in 1956; a representative figure in China’s instrument optics and optical design field; in 1995 elected academician with Chinese Academy of Engineering; worked as director of Research department of Changchun Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, etc; now works as professor and doctor tutor with Suzhou University .
Xue Mingqiu was the person-in-charge of optical system for China’s first remote sensing satellite-use camera, first large-sized shooting range optical equipment, first set of tracking TV vari-focus optical system and first set of high multiplying power military observation telescope. He edited as the chief editor or written jointly with others monographs such as “Instrument Optics ”, "Cinematography Objective Optical Design” and “An Introduction to Optical Design”, etc.
Won 16 awards at national, provincial and ministerial levels in succession; edited as the chief editor or written jointly with others three monographs; published more than 60 theses; won top-grade prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress Award;In Oct. 1984 confirmed as national young and mid-aged sci-tech expert with outstanding contributions;in 1993 proposed innovative thought of general survey and detailed survey of combined optical remote sensing, which was granted national invention patent in Aug. 2000;in 1990 confirmed as one enjoying special allowance for some senior experts; in 1992 appraised as Shaanxi model worker and won titles of Shaanxi excellent CPC-member expert and Shaanxi scientific and technological elite.
